CASE STUDY
Lava's Enterprise Infra Management System (EIMS) helps Fireblocks boost product efficiency, save money and improve customer experience
Web3 services are working overtime to give their users access to the hottest blockchains and rollups. With the ever expanding space of blockchain, maintaining high uptime and performance across hundreds of chains is becoming more and more challenging.

Fireblocks, a prominent digital asset platform, supports financial institutions, exchanges, fintechs, and startups with a diverse range of products.

This case study highlights how Fireblocks integrated Lava’s Enterprise Infra Management System (EIMS) to deliver consistent, high-performance blockchain access for milions of users across hundreds of networks.
We aspire to lead in security and reliability for our customers and partners, and we do that by constantly examining and improving our internal processes and infrastructure. In 2024 we set a goal to boost node reliability and performance. While we initially considered building an in-house solution, we soon realized that Lava offers the functionality we need, with added features, and at a significantly lower cost.

Both our team and users are very happy with the Lava integration!

The problem
Fireblocks depends on multiple RPC providers to access on-chain data, but managing these providers manually presents significant challenges. Frequent provider failures disrupt operations, causing major issues for both the Fireblocks team and their users.
Faced with these challenges, Fireblocks considered building an in-house load balancer and RPC provider aggregation system. Preliminary estimates indicated that this would require a full-time commitment from a team of 3 engineers over 6 months, with a projected development cost of $150,000—excluding the substantial opportunity costs involved.

After engaging with the MagmaDevs team and thoroughly reviewing the capabilities of EIMS, it became evident that integrating Lava offered a faster, more efficient, and cost-effective solution to get the job done in the best way.
The solution that saves Fireblocks time and money
For the past three years, Lava and its Infra Management System have been at the core of Web3's data access layer. With 10 million unique weekly users and 95 billion RPC requests served, Lava ensures reliable performance across any API on any chain.

In collaboration with MagmaDevs, Fireblocks implemented Lava’s EIMS in a single session.
Benefits
Lava EIMS offers advanced performance-based load balancing, with automatic retries and failover, fast transactions, double caching, and data consistency.
Conclusion
By adopting Lava's Enterprise solution, Fireblocks has managed to reduce operational costs and improve customer satisfaction. Lava's solution has set Fireblocks on a strong trajectory for growth within the competitive Web3 ecosystem.
In the past, it was much harder for our team to detect RPC issues, and we had to manually switch between providers when failures occurred. The Lava Enterprise Infra Manager automatically detects and resolves provider downtime, freeing our team from RPC-related emergencies.Additionally, we now have full insight into the performance of our providers, which helps us make smarter decisions, re-negotiate, and optimize costs.
